Blackstone Talent Group, an award-winning technology consulting and talent agency is seeking a System Administrator 4 to join our Client's team.
We are seeking a System Administrator to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business Unit. As part of (SES) Strategic Business Unit you will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates and maintains electronic security services inclusive of intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, it systems, perimeter defense and command and control systems for federal, local and commercial customers across high-growth markets.
What you’ll do:
Seeking an experience systems administrator to manage an enterprise network that consists of VMWare vSphere, Microsoft Windows Servers, Microsoft SQL Databases, network infrastructure (switches and firewalls), and Lenel OnGuard Enterprise. The Systems Administrator 4 will be responsible for maintaining the environment to ensure that the infrastructure meets Service Level Agreement (SLA’s) for Recovery Point Objective (RPO) and Recovery Time Objective (RTO) as well as ensuring a positive customer experience with the infrastructure. In order to ensure success as a Systems Administrator 4, candidates should posses strong foundational skills in VMWare, Microsoft Windows, SQL Databases, and network infrastructure, as well as be able to interface with a wide variety of stakeholders including end users and other network administrators.
- Installation, configuration, and upgrading of Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022
- Installation, configuration, and upgrading of RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8 and 9
- Administration of Microsoft SQL Server and Postgres database management systems
- System patching and remediation
- Reviewing system logs for errors and anomalies
- Interfacing with multiple service providers to ensure all system agents and services are functioning properly
- Interfacing with end users for a wide variety of reasons ranging from resolving client issues to providing basic end user training on Lenel OnGuard (M.C. Dean will provide OnGuard training if required)
- Monitoring system performance and performing daily health checks
- Maintaining system security posture to include, but not limited to: quarterly STIG updates and SCAP scans; system audits; reviewing ACAS / Tenable scans sqland remediating findings; updating system POA&Ms with remediation status; and responding to system security concerns
- Manage client accounts for Lenel OnGuard
- Performing routine database maintenance to include backups / restorations, SQL scripting, SQL STIGs, and maintaining database security settings
Key Requirements:
- Education: BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, or Information Systems and 7+ years of hands on experience OR Associates degree in a technology field and 10+ years of hands on experience in similar environments.
- Certifications: Applicants must have the following:
- Minimum Baseline IAT II (IAT III preferred) which can be found at DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certifications – DoD Cyber Exchange
- Microsoft Windows Server certification (any version); MCP or MCSA acceptable; MCSE preferred
- Either an active Lenel OnGuard Certified Professional certification or willingness to obtain one (M.C. Dean will provide training if required)
- Have strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Be able to work in a fast paced, collaborative environment
Desired / Advantageous Qualifications:
- VMWare VCP or VCE certification
- Cisco CCNA or CCNP certification
- Microsoft SQL Server certification
- Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification
- Lenel OnGuard Certified Professional or Expert in Access Control
