Our Cutting edge Technology client in Rancho Cordova, CA. and Vacaville, CA. is looking for a Senior Juniper Architect for a fully remote 12 month contract.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:

  • Must be consultative
  • Juniper expertise
  • Expert Knowledge of Juniper Leaf-Spine (IP-Fabric) Technology
  • Expert knowledge IS-IS and BGP routing protocols
  • Expert knowledge of VXLAN
  • Cisco expertise
  • Cisco ASA
  • Cisco Catalysts
  • Expert knowledge of legacy (Cisco) switch block data center design
  • Cisco Nexus for Routing (Mostly Static)
  • Create a detailed plan for converting legacy Cisco switch blocks to IP-Fabric
  • Perform detailed analysis and assistance during the outage windows
  • F5 expertise
  • Brocade switches a plus
  • NSX a plus
  • Network automation a plus

Planning and Design:

Determine required staffing level and Subject Matter Experts (SME) to complete the project as stated in this SOW, review its proposed staffing levels with Client.

Determine escalation points of contact within Client.

Conduct a kickoff meeting with Client team and any third-party resources identified by Client.

Plan hardware implementation and verify all requirements are met.

Plan software implementation and verify all requirements are met.

Meet with Client to ensure that all environment and operational implementation requirements (hardware, software, and infrastructure) are met and to provide Client with a list of available updates.

Plan and schedule installation and configuration tasks defined in this SOW.

Participate (as required) with Client-assigned resources to develop a detailed project plan with tasks and dates that are agreeable to both AHEAD and Client.

Determine the system implementation process and schedule.

Provide Client locations with the proposed configuration documentation.

Ensure that site preparation prerequisites are identified, defined, and in place.

Develop the new system configuration design.

Implementation and Testing:

Coordinate all resources necessary to successfully complete the engagement.

Implement hardware in accordance with designs developed in the Planning and Design Phase.

Install software in accordance with designs developed in the Planning and Design Phase.

Configure the system in accordance with the Configuration Guide.

Perform system testing to determine that all tasks performed are successfully completed.

Documentation, Functional Overview and Acceptance:

Review the system configuration documentation.

Conduct a basic product Functional Overview to familiarize the Client staff with the products delivered in their environment.

The purpose of the Functional Overview is to explain the basic functionality of the products that AHEAD installed, it is not a detailed tutorial or training manual for the operability or technical functionality of the products.

Clients without previous experience in the technology should not expect to become proficient as a result of the Functional Overview, proficiency can only be achieved through formal training and experience.

AHEAD strongly encourages the Client to attend education classes to gain further insight into the product architecture and its integration into Client’s environment.

Provide Client with a Configuration Guide that details the implementation and documents all configuration parameters.

Obtain Client acceptance and sign-off of the Services.
