Blackstone Talent Group, an award-winning technology consulting and talent agency is seeking a Operations Project & Portfolio Standards Manager to join our team at our client’s site in Davis, CA.

General Role Description:

This role will be responsible for leading the process improvement of and ultimately managing the IT portfolio service and intake process under the direction of the VRO Director. They will work closely with other IT peers and leaders as well as designers, developers, and technology requesters to manage the overall IT intake, clarification of requirements, and governance/prioritization process of technology requests.

The incumbent will have a thorough understanding and proven experience in project/portfolio data analysis, decision support and visualization as it pertains to an IT enterprise portfolio. The candidate will have proven experience and expertise in the ServiceNow Portfolio Management platform. The duties will include reporting, decision support, facilitation of request governance, application rationalization, and oversite of the request intake process. They will be expected to provide technical guidance, leadership and perform a variety of duties relating to information technology, product, and ideation development. 

Duties include:

·       Developing and managing the overall project and portfolio service capabilities for the enterprise IT portfolio leveraging the capabilities in ServiceNow and other ancillary tools as needed (Power BI, Smartsheets, Taleo, etc.)

·       Designing an ongoing lean improvement approach for all VRO portfolio processes, standards, and training in collaboration with the VRO ServiceNow Leadership. This includes project, program, portfolio, intake and decision support (governance)

·       Documenting, propose optimization recommendations and manage the IT request intake process, tools leveraging ServiceNow or other standard portfolio support tools

·       Developing communication and training plans for IT staff related to intake, portfolio, project management, and deliver training to IT staff in collaboration with the VRO Resource and Training Managers

·       Developing and maintaining an annual roadmap for the continued implementation and improvement cycle for the IT portfolio service.

·       Provide weekly, bi-weekly, monthly updates to leadership on portfolio performance, value metrics, and project/program standards

·       Exercise strategic thinking in prioritizing workload, as well as escalation to leadership.

  • Creates partnerships amongst all relevant UCDH departments / teams, vendors, and resources to ensure technology is fully and accurately designed, costed, and deployed.



  • Minimum of 4 years managing portfolio and project management capabilities
  • Minimum of 2 years ServiceNow PPM experience required
  • Experience developing and facilitating request intake and prioritization processes
  • Ability to clearly communicate at all levels within the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver well-organized and engaging presentations.
  • Experienced in facilitating multi-disciplined workgroups to develop solutions to problems and/or consensus on new products, processes, and services.
  • Demonstrated ability to function in a highly dynamic, fast-paced, and continually changing environment.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Smartsheet and Jira Experience preferred.
