Blackstone Talent Group, an award-winning technology consulting and talent agency is seeking a Desktop Engineer II to join our team at our client’s site in Palo Alto, CA.

The Desktop Engineer II will be primarily responsible for providing world enterprise support of nearly 2000 Apple and Windows devices.  This is your opportunity to get in on the ground floor of our newly created Client Platform Engineering team.  This team is focused on delivering an outstanding user experience and automating tasks for the IT support team. 

The Desktop Engineer II will partner with a team of Desktop Engineers to develop and implement systems and strategies that promote secure, efficient and cost effective client management solutions resulting in improved workflow, service delivery and client management across the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Typical duties include desktop Windows/Mac image testing/feedback and setup. Also management of our end point services such as Slack, O365, Google, Druva.  Remote Tier 3 support of employees/IT Peers throughout the US. Experience with a ITSM solution such as Jira. Additional duties may include support of the network and other IT teams as needed.   

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors preferred
  • Typically requires 3-5 years experience in Desktop engineering support of companies with 1000 employees or more
  • Solid working administrator knowledge of both Active Directory & Microsoft Office 365
  • Admin experience with Fleet management tools such as JAMF, SCCM, Intune and Workspace One
  • Videoconferencing technology support experience, particularly Zoom
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to present solution roadmaps
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and with minimal guidance
  • Strong experience with technical support troubleshooting and resolution of Windows/Mac and desktop support applications either over the phone or onsite.
  • Uses remote control tools to help troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Strong understanding of network design/concepts
  • Ability to work with vendors to resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Strong communication and technical documentation skills
  • Ability to lead small/medium/large technology projects.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks among many competing requests
  • Strong experience with the Windows and Mac Environments. Experience with fleet management tools like SCCM/Intune/Jamf/Workspace One
  • Experience building Mac images
  • Ability to follow instructions and processes with minimal instruction. Ability to work to work independently and adjust to shifting priorities.  
  • Excellent communications skills, experience training end users, experience creating user and peer documentation.

Work Environment:

Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies, computer peripherals and use office equipment. Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
