Blackstone Talent Group, an award-winning technology consulting and talent agency is seeking a Systems Engineer 3 to join our team at our client’s site in Charleston, SC.


Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify a lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. Evaluates customer and /operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture. Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success. Develops the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes. Resolves cross-functional technical issues.


Position Responsibilities:


•Coordinate with Cognizant Engineering and technical activities in the area of System Safety on C-17 Airlift programs

•Ensure proper implementation of system safety requirements into the design, test, and operation of Boeing products

•Responsible for System Safety deliverable documents (Safety Assessment Report, Critical Safety Items Report)

•Support risk assessment analyses for field issues, software safety assessment, and/or fault tree analysis

•Provide regular status reports to Boeing management, program management, and the Safety Review Board

•Serves as a company resource expert in the definition of system safety program fundamentals including risk identification, analysis and control of hardware and software hazards

•Support design activities for software/system improvement/obsolescence projects



Security Clearance:


This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):


•Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

•3+ years of experience in an engineering discipline

•1+ years of experience in Systems and Safety Engineering



Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):


•1+ years of experience assisting in any of the following engineering areas: analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification or product assurance or any other specialties engineering discipline

•1+ years of experience applying systems engineering principles during the development of complex hardware/software solutions on an aerospace platform

•1+ years of experience implementing Department of Defense system safety standards MIL STD 882E

•Working knowledge and experience developing/applying aviation related system safety analysis methods such as System Safety Risk Assessments, Fault-tree Analysis (FTA), Functional Hazard Assessment (FHA) and Safety Assessment Report (SAR)

•1+ years of experience with various reliability modelling techniques including Markov, Monte Carlo, and Weibull methods



Typical Education and Experience:


Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
