Applications include analog and digital based implementations of closed loop control systems, open loop electro-mechanical systems, motor drive and control, LED lighting systems, data acquisition and control, communications, telemetry and health monitoring, and power management.
You will create conceptual designs, schematics, develop detailed designs, and interface with other design teams (mechanical, software, systems). In addition to design tasks, you will be responsible for requirements compliance, proper documentation, and providing support to internal manufacturing and test teams.
The candidate will also provide other electrical engineering support as necessary, including requirements development, communicating with suppliers and procurement, and participating in technical reviews (design, test readiness, manufacturing readiness, etc.) with design teams and customers. Candidates should have excellent communication skills, the ability to function independently in a technically demanding environment, and a willingness to work with a diverse team of engineers, technicians, and support staff.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Analog and digital electronics design for flight and development hardware
Implementing controls, sensor interfaces, data acquisition, and telemetry in analog and digital-based solutions
Wiring harness and cable design
Integration of customer requirements and industry standards into designs
Testing of development, prototype, and spaceflight hardware
Development and documentation of hardware assembly and test procedures
Supporting the development and implementation of manufacturing processes for flight electronics
Initiate problem solving for new product designs and as well as existing products
instructions and specific Customer requirements
Originate specifications, control documents, verification and validation plans, procedures, reports, and other documentation in support of design and development activities
Prepare material for, and conduct, periodic design reviews
Execute engineering design and development activities consistent with Customer quality, cost and schedule requirements
Participate in design integration with customer requirements and industry standards
Maintains logs and manuals to document testing and operation of equipment
Responsible for the design and development of units from concept through qualification
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Punctuality to work each day and prepared to work scheduled work hours
Other duties as assigned
Ability to travel occasionally
Minimum physical requirements to perform all duties and responsibilities, as defined by management
Requires 6+ years of relevant experience
Bachelor s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Knowledge of interface and design documentation such as Functional block diagrams
Experience with analog and digital electronics
Experience with electronic design and analysis tools, such as Altium Designer and LTSpice
Hands-on familiarity with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, function generators, power supplies, etc.
Ability to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment with an emphasis on meeting customer schedules
Excellent communication skills required
Experience in an aerospace or medical electronics helpful, but not required
Experience with embedded systems, including microcontrollers and FPGAs, helpful, but not required
